I'm so glad you found me! I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog charts my journey in the ever-evolving world of photography. One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning and meeting wonderful people. Please peruse the blog to your heart's content, then check out my website and feel free to contact me! (I love hearing from you.)

Film Friday - Random San Francisco

Film Friday is back! With some random SF pictures, taken a rather long time ago but somehow never shared on the blog. I've been shooting a bit less film lately (possibly because I'm down to my last three rolls and haven't been able to justify buying more until I shoot those, also possibly because of that whole month where my left arm stopped working properly), but I still love it, of course. I don't think I'll ever stop shooting digital for my client work, but equally I don't think I'll ever stop shooting film for my personal work. I like the division; it makes sense to me. And I love medium format so, so much.

I always want to photograph dogs, anywhere I see them.

One of my favorite coffee shop windows, from the inside.

Window selfie!

And some nasturtiums.

Happy Film Friday! Have a great weekend! Get out there and enjoy the sunshine!

San Francisco Engagement Photographer - Killian and Silvestre at Sutro Baths

I love Sutro Baths. I'm not normally one to play favorites (I enjoy a wiiiiiiiide variety of people, situations, and things) but if I were pressed to choose a favorite location to shoot at in San Francisco, I'd probably choose Sutro Baths. There's just such a huge variety of photos to be found there; lots of nooks and crannies to explore and stunning backdrops to make use of. Plus, it's an awesome place for silhouettes, which I just can't seem to get enough of.

I met Killian and Silvestre there a couple of weeks ago for their engagement session, and true to form, it was magical. Of course it didn't hurt that Killian and Silvestre are pretty great themselves: down to earth, laid back, and fun to hang out with.

We wandered Sutro Baths and came away with some photos that I think really capture the essence of who they are together.

I just love this photo of Silvestre. (By the way, his nickname is Silver. Is there anything cooler than that?)

Silhouettes. Yum.

And the light just kept getting better and better.

I've been experimenting recently with creating double exposures in-camera with a new technique, and I have to say I'm a little bit addicted.

Thanks guys, for such a fun session!
