Welcome to Quotidian Photography!

I'm so glad you found my blog. I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog is how I stay sharp in the ever-evolving world of photography. I'm passionate about capturing the world around me with my camera, and I try to share that passion with you here. To find out more about me, check out my About page. And don't miss my website!

One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning new things and meeting new and wonderful people. I really couldn't wish for anything more.

“Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow." – Imogen Cunningham

“A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it.” – Edward Steichen

About Me

I'm Jessica Sweeney and I'm San Francisco photographer, specializing in weddings and portraits.

Originally from Berkeley, CA, I've lived in 5 countries but finally came back home to San Francisco. I live with my cat Mouse and my boyfriend, plus maybe a couple of my boyfriend's brothers. I'm absolutely in love with my camera and it comes with me everywhere.

I believe that photography is a way to capture the present and preserve it for the future. I also believe that the search for beauty, and the appreciation of beauty makes us all better people. I believe that everyone has something special to give, and I believe that I'm here to capture that, from time to time.

Contact me at jessica@quotidianphotography.com. No question is too small, and I love getting feedback on my work. Don't forget to also check out my website!

I'm absolutely addicted to:
-Burritos (veggie, please, with black beans and everything on it)
-Rufus Wainwright, The Beatles, Death Cab for Cutie, Zero 7, or any of the rotating bands on my iTunes playlists
-Good friends. And easy, flowing banter.
-Second hand clothing stores that have great clothes at amazing prices (hello Crossroads, I'm talking to you!)
-A faint touch of sarcasm. Keeps the blood moving.
-The iBooks app on my iPhone. First time I've bought so many books in one month. Oops!
-Late nights. I'm not a morning person, and I'm convinced I only really get energized right about the time everyone else is going to sleep.
-Coffee. Goes hand in hand with those late nights, and it's a one-cup-a-day habit that I don't really want to kick. It's so delicious.
