Day 77 (May 27) The Garden at f/1.8

I always enjoy really narrow depth of field in other people photos, and I think to myself, "Gosh, it sure would be nice to have that expensive lens to take such beautiful images."

Well, duh! Jessica.

I already have a lens with very narrow depth of field, and because I'm a bit slow, I hardly ever use it. And when I do, I stop down! Why???

So, today, I shot wide open in the garden, during some light rain (by the way, not recommended, but I was pretty sure the camera could handle it). Wide open the lens isn't super sharp, plus the leaves were blowing in the breeze, but I still got some decent results.

Day 75 (May 25)

Okay, so this is technically a photo from this weekend, but I didn't want to break my flow of posting every day, plus there's something about this one that I like.

Whoever lives there must have a pretty nice life, not to mention fairly deep pockets for Thailand.

Day 74 (May 24)

We almost walked past this little guy on our way to Erawan waterfalls in Kanchanaburi. He was sitting so still, several people thought he was made of plastic! They were convinced though, when he ran away from us at breakneck speed, fortunately after I had already grabbed some pictures of him.

Day 73 (May 23)

We spent the weekend in Kanchanaburi, about two hours away from where we live in Sam Phran. During the rainy season, the skies here have been fantastic. This is yet another example. If I were editing these photos in PS, I would clone out that annoying little wire in the bottom right hand corner.

Day 72 (May 22)

Evan picked up some cigars in Myanmar; we had a party Friday night to celebrate the beginning of the new term. Evan's not really a smoker, but he did make it through one cigar.

Day 59 (May 9)

Another stormy day shortly after we returned from Myanmar. It's been raining every day since then, pretty much. The upside is we don't have to water the garden any more!
