I'm so glad you found me! I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog charts my journey in the ever-evolving world of photography. One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning and meeting wonderful people. Please peruse the blog to your heart's content, then check out my website and feel free to contact me! (I love hearing from you.)

Barbie the Chihuahua - San Francisco Pet Photographer

I met up with Kate and Adam and Barbie one warm afternoon at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. It was a gorgeous afternoon: sunny and warm, and without that San Francisco chill that we city-dwellers have learned to take for granted.

Barbie, a super sweet (and tiny!) chihuahua clocking in at only five pounds was without a doubt the star of the day. Happy to wander around off leash, she smelled all the smells, investigated the most intriguing bushes, and in exchange for treats, posed for some photos like a pro.

Did I mention that she also has the most expressive ears?

Barbie is also really adept on two paws. Especially if a treat might be in the offing.

And she does a mean high five.

Plus, she gives great hugs.

Kate, Adam, and Barbie, thank you so much for a great afternoon! I just loved photographing all of you, and I feel so lucky to have met you.

Film Friday - Maria

Maria and I met up on a gorgeously sunny afternoon at the top of Strawberry Hill in Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. We had two rolls of film, and a mission: to get some lovely portraits of her.

Maria, you're stunning.

I just love the character of Fuji's Acros 100 - hands down, it's my current favorite black and white film, so crisp and fine and clean, and with just gorgeous tones.

Then we switched to color, and made use of the flowering plum trees.

The light was fading fast, so this last shot isn't quite in focus as I'd like it to be (one argument for shooting digital, definitely!), but I just love the feeling of it.

Thanks Maria!

Film Friday - AnnMarie and Paul

Another recent film portrait session. AnnMarie and Paul were troopers, meeting me just after dawn at Stow Lake in the bitter cold. (Okay, bitter for here, anyway.)

We took advantage of the beautiful light and managed to get some great portraits of the two of them as well as their trusty sidekick Leo.

I just love the look of film, the buttery highlights and the soft bokeh. Digital is convenient, yes, but it doesn't have the same special feel.

Thanks again, AnnMarie and Paul. It was a wonderful morning!
