I'm so glad you found me! I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog charts my journey in the ever-evolving world of photography. One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning and meeting wonderful people. Please peruse the blog to your heart's content, then check out my website and feel free to contact me! (I love hearing from you.)

My word for 2016, and 3 things I'm enjoying this week

Wow, how long has it been since my last post on here? Wait, don't answer that. Too long, by far.

Since it's a shiny new year, I have lots of shiny new resolutions. Yes, I'm a resolution-maker. I know the stats on keeping resolutions are appallingly low, but there's something about aspiring to be a better, happier, more accomplished person that just feels  . . . good. And I'd rather resolve something that might not turn out than never have resolved at all. Some things do stick, and they're worth the whole process. More on resolutions will be coming to this space, soon.

I've also chosen my word for 2016, which is explore. We've got some really fun travel plans on the books for 2016, which is so exciting! I also want to explore more locally. I want to get to know more corners of this beautiful city of mine. I want to visit new coffee shops and new restaurants. And maybe bring a camera along with me, who knows?

I also wanted to start sharing a few things I've been enjoying with you. This week number one is this lovely eucalyptus that I bought to festoon the house with, but literally two minutes after I bought the sprigs I googled 'Is eucalyptus toxic to cats?' and yep! It is, so the eucalyptus had to spend its days in the laundry room to avoid poisoning the local feline population.

I received this super awesome camera bag for Christmas (it was a joint present from many family members) and although I'm still figuring out just which camera doodads get stuffed into which nooks and crannies, I'm pretty sure it's going to be in heavy rotation throughout the year. It's impressively well designed. A great camera bag that you can use for all kinds of photo occasions (and for non-photo occasions too) is a bit like the Holy Grail, and I think this just might fit the bill.

And my third item is this incredibly soft wool blanket which I gifted to Evan and myself (which isn't exactly like buying a present for yourself, right? If someone else is sharing it?). It makes our seen-better-days green couch look and feel cozier, and gives us something to curl up under as we watch another episode of Jessica Jones or The Walking Dead.

So what are some things you're enjoying this January? Have you chosen a word for 2016 yet?

*Soon to come on the blog: tons and tons of weddings and other photo sessions I haven't shared with you yet, some cats and kittens and other furry friends, and much more!*
