I'm so glad you found me! I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog charts my journey in the ever-evolving world of photography. One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning and meeting wonderful people. Please peruse the blog to your heart's content, then check out my website and feel free to contact me! (I love hearing from you.)

Two

Two for you today! (I love that tongue.)

  1. Wow what a perfect picture of your kitty. Everything is so clear and details are amazing. I want to hug him, LOL. The fuschia (I think that's it) is really pretty, its one of my favorites. Excellent on both of them.

  2. Two winners today! Two of my loves are cats and fuschias. I have a photo of my cat with his tongue peeking out, too.

And fuschias! My twin raises these in the Pacific Northwest...all different kinds. I know in the east bay (maybe S.F., too?) they grow as big as hedges. Because it is so hot here I have difficulty raising them. I tried a fuschia tree last year and it struggled. However, it overwintered in a protected spot, and I am hopeful for another season before I kill it...

You asked about the almonds. After you get into the central valley on 580 you can probably see some. In order to get close enough to photograph, you would need to venture off the major roads. We live south of Modesto, but you don't have to go that far south to see all the almonds in bloom.

This weekend there is an almond festival in Ripon. Here is the link to the Modesto Bee. http://www.modbee.com/2010/02/25/1064941/orchards-a-bloomin.html.

I hope you get some good shots to blog.

  4. I love that raspy kitty tongue! A fantastic portrait. Wonderful light on the fucshia, looks like hummingbird bait.

  5. Somewhere in those eyes is a self portrait waiting to be discovered. LOL All you are missing is a hummingbird. Great images Jessica.

  6. That fuscia is just stunning...but my heart goes to the kitty...those eyes are amazing and what a cute look! I love how it feels like I could reach out and pat that cat on the head (like she would let me)!

  7. Really like the detail in that cats eyes, even the reflection is in focus. Superb composition and color on both though The flower is just a little hot for my taste.

  8. Fabulous kitty image. They are so hard to photograph and you did this beautifully. I love the tongue!! No yellow eyes either.
