Welcome to Quotidian Photography!

I'm so glad you found my blog. I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog is how I stay sharp in the ever-evolving world of photography. I'm passionate about capturing the world around me with my camera, and I try to share that passion with you here. To find out more about me, check out my About page. And don't miss my website!

One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning new things and meeting new and wonderful people. I really couldn't wish for anything more.

“Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow." – Imogen Cunningham

“A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it.” – Edward Steichen

I still long for a dedicated macro, but I'm finding that with practice (and enough light) the Lensbaby macro filters do a fairly decent job. And this photo celebrates finally being finished with the Souvenir Foto School Alphabet challenge. If you're interested you can view the whole set from A to Z here. I'm not totally in love with all of the photos, sometimes the quality was not so high as other times, but in general I feel that it was worth doing and I learned some new photographic techniques, specifically how to use the stuff I already own to do some macro work. And I'm pleased at the level of detail I was able to obtain in this one shot.

Awesome clarity on the zipper...the lensbaby did a great job with this!

I'd say that is great detail. Very minimal DOF, but that draws you eye into where the real detail is. Nice job.

I like the shot! Clever idea. I really enjoy the lensbabies and the creative edge that it gives the photographer.
