I'm so glad you found me! I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog charts my journey in the ever-evolving world of photography. One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning and meeting wonderful people. Please peruse the blog to your heart's content, then check out my website and feel free to contact me! (I love hearing from you.)

Another photo from the snow. Two ways of processing it, which do you like better? I'm leaning toward the first, because the second one hurts my eyes a little. Not sure that the first one is interesting enough, though.

  1. I like the second for the extra detail visible. I have a slow ISP and these images took a lng time down loading although they are a reasonable size in themselves, for comparison I like to look at things side by side, and even on my 17" laptop I had to scroll up and down to see them at a decent size, I will check on my 24" monitor tomorrow and I will apologize if that proves to be better. Not a criticism at all just a suggestion, side by side is easier is all!

  2. I'm with you Jessica, I like the first better, I think the colors are more realistic and it still has great details....I don't think this is boring what so ever - the contrast against the snow also adds interest!

  4. Ron, I wish I knew how to put them side by side, I'll try to figure it out! Anyone know a quick and easy way?

  5. Tree bark is a great subject, has so much depth and character. I love the result when Topaz BuzSim filter is used on it.

  8. How about something inbetween... I like the more realistic colours in the first but I also like the "aliveness" of the highlights in the second. Without any insight into your processing in LR, perhaps try increasing the highlites and a little less vibrance.

  9. Hard decision I like them both. The second one could be one of those pictures that has the other picture in it. The detail is amazing.

  11. How about bodacious? I've always loved that word unreasonably!

  12. Ha! I like brilliantly bodacious! The second is a just a bit too unreal, diled down a tad would be perfect I think.
