Film Friday - Expired
When I bought my Bronica it came with a couple of rolls of expired film. I had no idea how old they were, or how carefully they'd been stored (with film, the colder it's stored, the better). But I felt fairly optimistic, maybe because that's just my default position in general on things.
So I shot a roll over Christmas, expired TMAX 100, and the results were . . . interesting. The first few shots just looked a little funky as I scanned them, but the further I got into the roll the worse it got. Not terrible, no, but certainly not crystal clear. The grain clumps make the film look dirty, but I promise it isn't. Or at least not that dirty.
Evan. My ever patient subject.
Like this shot, I really love it. Or I would, if you could actually see what was going on.
Anyway, that's part of the magic of film! You never know for sure what you're going to get. I still have a couple expired rolls, and I shot one in color last week, so I'll share it with you when it gets developed.
