I'm so glad you found me! I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog charts my journey in the ever-evolving world of photography. One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning and meeting wonderful people. Please peruse the blog to your heart's content, then check out my website and feel free to contact me! (I love hearing from you.)

Daisy

As I bent down to take this photo of a daisy in a bed in a public area of San Francisco today, I saw a police officer shake his head at me. Assuming the bed was off limits for some reason, I said "No?"

He said, "I wouldn't if I were you. That's pretty much the bathroom area for all the homeless in San Francisco."

I thought about it for a moment, and said "That's okay, I'm just taking a picture."

He replied, "Ok, I thought you were going to pick some flowers."

Anyway, Internet, I DID take the picture, but I was careful not to touch the flowers directly. Because he had a point. That grass looks awfully green, doesn't it?

  1. That is a beautiful shot, I love it. That area must be well fertilized, LOL. Glad you are one of the few without this crazy snow and ice thing going on. It must be beautiful there.

  2. Just stunning and so colorful! Love the blur around the flower! Your story made me laugh, only us silly people holding cameras would get down in the "fertilizer"! LOL

  6. There is a statue with a small fountain in our little town that is said to be the only bathing place available in the summer for our homeless. Nice statue however.

I love the contrast of colors in this photo. The focus is so clear on the blossom and nicely out of focus in places, too.

  9. LOL, that's awesome! I was going to say "geez you can't get away with ANYTHING in California anymore can you?" LOL

Glad it's still legal to take pictures. And glad that the nice officer warned you, at least. ;o)
