I'm so glad you found me! I'm a San Francisco photographer, and this blog charts my journey in the ever-evolving world of photography. One of the things I love about photography is that it's a journey, not a destination. I'm constantly learning and meeting wonderful people. Please peruse the blog to your heart's content, then check out my website and feel free to contact me! (I love hearing from you.)

Monochrome . . . Thursday?

Can't even seem to follow my own rules properly, NOT to mention the rules of others (and let's please not mention those), but I have finally found an image I like in monochrome, though it may no longer be Monday. I took this at one of the piers here in San Francisco, on a rainy day when it would have been much wiser to stay indoors instead.

It tickled me to see these gulls staring off into the distance together. Their necks are so much more mobile than ours are, it's really incredible.

  1. Rules? There are no rules, only pictures you like and ones you don't! :) Throw the rule book away...this is fabulous...and very timeless! Nice!

  2. I really like everything you included in this shot - the varying heights and angled tops of the pilings, the angles and lines of the bridge beyond, the raindrops, and the faceless gulls. Especially like how you can see the feet of the nearer seagull...

    Wonderful black and white.

  7. I'm not a huge fan of monochrome but I really like this one! Very much even! I think it's because of the rain! Love that the raindrops are so visible!

And rules are meant to be broken! :O)
