Smile SF
One from the long list of shoots I haven't blogged yet! I shot these for a local dentist office a long while ago, Smile SF, combining (maybe for the first time!) my architectural shooting with portraiture. Farah Sefidvash was great to work with as she knew exactly what she wanted, but also listened to my suggestions. For example, I suggested shooting just before dusk to get the best light for the exterior shots.
I loved the use of this purple throughout the office! It's calming, but not as expected as blue would be.
I love the bright, clean feel of the entryway, with the plants providing just enough warmth to be welcoming rather than antiseptic.

Caturday is Back!
A few cats and kittens for you this Saturday morning. I've got some engagement sessions to shoot, some coffee to drink, and a whole host of blog posts to start putting together, not to mention some photos to edit (like always). Still, I'm pretty excited that it's the weekend. Have a great one, and enjoy these furry felines while you do.

A Couple of Portraits
So . . . . blogging. Hmm. Yeah, back to that. I know I've been away awhile (which we can partially blame on laziness, absolutely, and also partly blame on this really weird unexplained medical phenomenon wherein my left elbow basically stopped working mid-January and has only recently gotten semi-back-to-normal and which was not conducive to typing a lot).
Anyway, I still love this blog. I still want to be here. I have blogging plans, people! They will happen. I know they will. To start off, here are a couple of mini-portrait sessions that I didn't really think needed their own blog post, but also didn't deserve to be ignored entirely.
I have so many sessions in the blog backlog, so expect to see more here soon. More portraits, more weddings, more dogs and cats and guinea pigs. It's all on its way. More film. More photos of jam. I'm still making jam up a storm and I've branched out to pickles as well and I am totally obsessed with Weck jars as new vessels to can things in. And then I want to photograph them all since they're so pretty.
See you soon here, on the blog! I promise.

Happy Guinea Pig Saturday!
I know it doesn't sound quite as good as Caturday, but these guinea pigs were really too cute not to share, even if they don't create a good portmanteau with any day of the week.
We had two pairs of pigs, each a mother/daughter set, and all very cute.
Guinea pigs love snuggles too.
And who doesn't love a good guinea pig bum shot?
For the second pair, we brought out some lettuce. And now I don't think I ever want to photograph a guinea pig without lettuce. I think you'll see why.
Lady and the Tramp!
Lettuce tug of war.
Where did all the lettuce go?
Look! There's some. I must grab it.
Yum.
